The design and installation of a directionally drilled 640m x 1067mm dia steel gas pipeline crossing of the River Ribble at Preston.  Part of the Treales to Burscough trunk line.

Directional Drilling

Installation of two 273mm dia river crossings forming part of the Grangemouth to Stanlow refinery interlink for ethylene transfer.  The Mersey crossing involved extensive drilling in sandstone rock.  The River Ribble crossing at Preston was 1040m long and the River Mersey at Fiddlers Ferry was 800m long.

Directional Drilling Engineering Study

Geotechnical borehole investigation for a 600m long x 250mm dia ethylene pipeline crossing under the R. Mersey, the St. Helens canal, railway line and ash lagoons.  Work to assess feasibility for installation of the pipeline using the directional drilling technique.  Part of Grangemouth-Stanlow trunkline

Engineering, Directional Drilling and Bundle Fabrication

Construction and installation of a 1200m x 660mm dia steel sleeve pipe between oil wells on Furzey Island and the collection system on the Goathorn Peninsula.  The crossing under the South Deep Channel of Poole Harbour later had a 6 pipe bundle inserted into the sleeve.  Exceptional environmental precautions were taken in this designated nature reserve.
