The installation of a new PLEM, tie-in spools and a refurbished CALM buoy was undertaken along with post lay trenching of pipelines with TM7, and hydrotesting of the complete system. Location: Mongstad Oil Refinery, Norway Client: Statoil (s/c European Marine Contractors) Landfall Provided the design and engineering of ground anchors, foundations and a shore based pull-in system required for the pull ashore of the 12” diameter pipeline. The pipeline was fabricated and launched from the DPV lay barge ‘Lorelay’ via an s-curve trajectory and entered a sub-sea bell mouth in 225m of water. The pipeline was then pulled through a pre-drilled directionally drilled rock tunnel some 440m long which terminated within Mongstad Refinery. Location: Esjberg, Demark Client: Dangas (s/c to EMC) Landfall Installation of the landfall section of the South Arne gas pipeline. The 2km x 609mm steel gasline was pulled ashore from a laybarge into a pre-dredged trench by land-based winches. The landfall took place just north of Esjberg on the west coast of Jutland. Location: Carlingford Co. Louth, Ireland Client: Louth County Council Submarine Outfalls and Intakes The construction and installation of a 1330m by 250mm dia MDPE pipe with pre cast concrete weight collars into a pre-dredged rock, sand and silt trench. The diffuser comprised a tideflex valve at the end of the horizontally laid pipe, with the end 50m of pipe protected with pre cast concrete units. The pipe was butt fusion welded onshore into 6 nominal 220m long pipe strings and hydrostatically tested, before launching with pre cast concrete weight collars attached and installed section by section in the pre-dredged trench by the float and sink method. Pipe strings were joined using flanged ends. Location: Otopeni Airport, Romania Client: Air BP Process Aviation fuelling terminal built in Romania to highest standards of safety and reliability in just 11 months, starting with a greenfield site.
